Martial Arts, fitness and me:

At the age of 6 in the year 1993 I was inspired to learn Karate. My inspirations being my grandfather and father who themselves were involved in Stick fencing & Kusthi – a form of Indian martial arts and Wrestling. My uncle was a Karate master (Shihan Obulesh) which made me join Karate initially in the year 1993. Bruce Lee the renowned martial arts legend has been a major role in my life as I started learning Karate. Initially I learned Karate for fitness and self defence. Later on through regular practice of Karate, I understood there is so much more to learn, it is vast and deep as an ocean, and is infinite.

Karate is learnt for self-defense, mental & physical fitness. It improves the overall personality of a person which includes discipline, patience and good morals. For me Karate is not just martial art or sport, it is a part of my daily life and routine.

I have been a part of many State, National and International level tournaments and seminars of Great teacher like. I have been awarded 1st Dan Black Belt in the year 2003 by Shihan Sundaram (Chief Instructor, Okinwan Goju Ryu Karate)   and became an Assistant Instructor to my Master. Later I began teaching karate classes under the association OKGKS India (Okinawan Koshiki Goju Ryu Karate – Do Shirinkan India) as a Chief Instructor and head of OKGKS Karnataka. At present I hold the rank of 5th Dan Black Belt from OKGKS Canada & All India Goju Ryu Federation & 4th Dan Black belt from Karate Association of India, 2nd Dan Black Belt from International Wado Kai.
